lyrics

There’s so much to discover here, so much I want to share
Walking back along the road with springtime prickling the air
And through the graveyard, I think of family
How our bones will knit together in our place under the green

The nuthatches are diving for the food above the sill
And the daffodils are sprouting at the foot of Harper’s long hill
The crescent moon is like a letter box through steam
And you know I whisper to you on the other side of the green

My heart has never left you dear and my mind feels just the same
There are memories aplenty for to keep me on this train
And I’d love to paint a picture of the places that I’ve been
But better that I meet you on the other side…

The dogs are sniffing round me and the farmers on their trail
There’s a barrow load of hay to deliver for the Summer harvest sale
The logs are stacked up like a forest mountain scene
But I’m always thinking of you on the other side of the green

My heart has never left you dear and my mind feels just the same
There are memories aplenty for to keep me on this train
And I’d love to paint a picture of the places that I’ve been
But better that I meet you on the other side of the green

There’s so much to discover here, so much I want to share
The daffodils on Harper’s Hill and springtime in the air
And when I listen to the record of our Christmas in the snow
There’s nothing I’d like better than to hold you in and never let you go

My heart has never left you dear and my mind feels just the same
There are memories aplenty for to keep me on this train
And I'd love to paint a picture of the places that I've been
But better that I meet you on the other side of the green.
